Jasmine Rice is a long grain white aromatic rice, grown in Thailand and highly prized for its delicate flowery aroma and sweet flavor. When cooked grains are lightly sticky with a soft texture.
Used for steamed rice, fried rice, stir fry dishes and rice pudding, or as an alternative to other fragrant long-grain rice, with grilled meat, poultry or seafood.
Cooking Instructions for plain rice:
- In a sauce pan add 1 1/2cups of water/ Cup of washed & rinsed rice, add a pinch of salt to taste (optional)
- Stir lightly, bring to a rolling boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is sticky yet fluffy.
- Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 5 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the liquid.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
One cup of rice will yield: 2 1/2 cups of cooked rice.
