Mace is the lacy reddish covering (aril) of the Nutmeg (Jaifal) spice. It has sweet aromatic fragrance (slightly sweeter than Nutmeg), enhances color, taste, and flavor of foods.
Often used in spice blends, meat dishes, stews, curries, savory sauces, pickles, sweet puddings, muffins, cakes and breads.
1tbsp mace can be substituted for 1tsp mace powder. Mace also can be substituted for Nutmeg in any recipe.
*Mace improves taste & appetite, regulates the digestive system.
